DVB headend

DVB headends | Hybrid headends

Maximum flexibility in signal processing

Depending on the type, the MK headends can receive DVB-S/S2/S2x/T/T2/C or DVB-S/S2/S2x and modulate the selected programmes in DVB-C, DVB-T or DVB-T2. With the help of software extensions, functions can also be expanded. The headend can either be mounted directly on a wall or converted for mounting in a 19″ rack using the MKZ 1-0x front panels. Headends for FM, DAB+ channel converters and a universal input modulator complete the range.

Optimised capacity management

By means of re- and cross-multiplexing, programmes can be specifically distributed to the output modulators and capacities optimised. The MK headends are additionally available with CI slots for decoding encrypted programme packages via CA modules (also high-speed modules). Due to the flexible and efficient allocation of programmes to the CA modules, channels distributed over several satellite transponders can be decrypted using one and the same CA module.

Benefits at a glance:

  • Optimised capacity management, thus many programmes in the smallest possible space

  • Different input signals, Different output modulations

  • Software extensions for PID, NIT or CAS available

  • Rremote maintenance (SMARTPortal)

  • Supports SNMP

  1. DVB-C/T/IPTV headends in hybrid technology

The headends initially offer DVB-C or DVB-T signals at the output as usual. However, due to the hybrid technology, these can be switched to IPTV with the software extension MKS 1-03I (no parallel operation possible).
